Configuring POPcon for a branch office that handles only part of a domain

In a branch office scenario, the branch Exchange server handles a subset of the company's email addresses while the main office handles the rest.

Configuration

  1. Configure Exchange at the branch to accept an internal domain (e.g. branchoffice.local) separate from the main company domain.
  2. Assign branch users two SMTP addresses: one in the company domain (e.g. jane@company.com, set as the default reply-to) and one in the internal domain (e.g. jane@branchoffice.local).
  3. In POPcon's catch-all mailbox settings, enable "Auto replacement of recipient domains" to replace incoming @company.com addresses with @branchoffice.local.

This way POPcon routes incoming email to the correct local Exchange mailboxes.
