POPcon PRO™
Advanced Exchange POP3 & IMAP Connector
Everything in POPcon, plus built-in antivirus scanning, antispam filtering, rule-based distribution, and mail archiving. Built for high-volume and security-conscious Exchange environments.
Everything in POPcon, plus
POPcon PRO adds security and filtering capabilities on top of the core POP3/IMAP retrieval engine — no separate antivirus gateway required.
Built-in Antivirus Scanning
Each incoming message is scanned automatically. Infected emails are wrapped in a warning message and routed to the postmaster. Virus signatures update daily without manual intervention.
Antispam Filtering
Checks sender IPs against real-time blacklist servers (RBLs). Configurable spam tag injection and auto-delete rules. Blacklist server list is automatically cleaned and updated.
Rule-Based Distribution
Define rules by sender address, recipient name, subject line, or attachment filename. Actions: forward, copy, delete, or reroute. Unlimited rules, evaluated in priority order.
Mail Archiving
Optionally archive every received message to configurable daily or monthly folders. Keeps an audit trail independent of Exchange mailbox storage.
Parallel Download Threads
Download from multiple POP3/IMAP accounts simultaneously using parallel threads. Significantly faster retrieval in high-volume or many-account deployments.
Excel-Importable Message Logs
Detailed per-message logs exportable as CSV for import into Excel. Track delivery counts, error rates, spam flags, and virus detections over time.

Common questions
What's the difference between POPcon and POPcon PRO?
POPcon PRO includes everything in POPcon plus built-in antivirus scanning, antispam filtering (RBL checks), rule-based message distribution, mail archiving, and parallel download threads. If you need virus protection or advanced filtering without a separate gateway, PRO is the right choice.
Can I upgrade from POPcon to POPcon PRO?
Yes. Contact sales@servolutions.com with your existing POPcon license details. We'll provide an upgrade pricing quote and a single PRO installer — no reinstallation of Exchange configuration required.
How does the antivirus engine work?
POPcon PRO includes an embedded antivirus scanner with automatic daily signature updates. Detected virus emails are encapsulated in a warning message and optionally diverted to the postmaster address rather than delivered to the recipient.
The antispam is marking legitimate emails as spam. What should I do?
The antispam uses RBL (real-time blackhole list) servers. False positives can happen when a sending server's IP is on a blacklist. Check the POPconAdmin log to identify which blacklist triggered, and consider adding that server to your whitelist or disabling that specific RBL.
How do I set up Gmail or Microsoft 365 with OAuth?
POPcon PRO v4.8.1+ supports OAuth 2.0 for both Google and Microsoft accounts. The setup wizard in POPconAdmin guides you through the authorization flow. See our Knowledge Base article for step-by-step instructions for each provider.
Where are the archived emails stored?
Archived emails are saved to a configurable folder path on the server running POPcon PRO, organized in daily or monthly subfolders. The archive is independent of Exchange — it stores raw .eml files for compliance or backup purposes.
How do I transfer my configuration to a new server?
Export your configuration from POPconAdmin on the old server (File > Export Config). On the new server, install POPcon PRO and use File > Import Config. All mailbox accounts, rules, and settings are transferred. See the Knowledge Base for a detailed migration guide.
What Windows versions are supported?
Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022, 2025 — and Windows 7 through 11 for non-server deployments. Requires .NET 4.7.2 or later.
