How to connect to Gmail with modern authentication / OAuth2
Google requires OAuth2 (modern authentication) for Gmail access. Here is the step-by-step process:
In POPcon, add a new mailbox account. Set the server type to IMAP, server address imap.gmail.com, port 993.
Click the "Connect OAuth2" button next to the authentication field.
A browser window opens. Sign in to your Google account.
Grant POPcon permission to access your Gmail.
If Google shows an "unverified app" warning, click Advanced and then "Go to POPcon (unsafe)" to proceed.
Complete the authentication flow.
Back in POPcon, the status should show "Authenticated".
Click "Test access" to verify the connection works.
You do not need to enter a password when using OAuth2. The OAuth token is stored securely and refreshed automatically.
